Internap, a global streaming media company, wanted to offer their customers a powerful yet easy-to-use tool for managing the use and deployment of streaming media assets. To achieve this, Internap needed an efficient and dynamic way to consolidate, provide access to, and display customer data stored in disparate locations across Internap’s network.
Solution:Internap chose Metaliq’s Data Analysis and Tracking (mDAT) to develop the Reporting Dashboard in their MediaConsole 3.0 for Flash. Supported by industrial strength code, the mDAT provides customers a single point of access for interacting with large amounts of data. A RIA (Rich Internet Application) that elegantly displays tables, graphs, and data drilldowns, the mDAT offers simultaneous views of snapshots and trends. All information on the mDAT is formatted expressly for making critical business decisions, ensuring customers never have to sift through extraneous, confusing, or out-of-date information.
Results:
Internap's customers can now track the performance of global streaming media assets across several key data points and see up-to-the-minute metrics for the hour, day, month, and year. Customers can spot high usage areas, whether in New York, Belgium, or Hong Kong, and plan bandwidth needs accordingly. The mDAT guarantees business-critical information is always at customers’ fingertips, allowing them to pinpoint potential problems before they occur, thereby avoiding crises, and enabling them to focus on the most important areas of their business.
